1. ENVIROMENTAL CONSERVATION

VJFT will focus on employing strategies based suitable for prevention of pollution on both land and water. We are working initiatives that will help champion conservation of our environment in both urban and rural area. Some of our best approaches will be to plant at least 1000000 trees in the next 5 years, cleaning of rivers and swamps, public parks, Construction of water reservoirs We also have come up with advocacy programs that will target general public as well as other organization in support of our agendas. NEMA has previously indicated that the major cause of pollution is the public unwillingness to comply to conservative policies. We have engaged various media houses in an effort to create awareness on the importance of environmental sustainability. Ban of plastic bags in Kenya was one key player in working towards the historic revolution of plastic and eradication of one of the major pollutants on land and water. VJFT will be keen to working with NEMA in ensuring all of these policies are observed.

2. ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT

According to KNOEMA unemployed rate of women is at 6.09 with a third of this number being women in rural areas. VJFT focuses on promoting income generating activities. Targeting to work in every corner of this nation our aim is to reduce unemployment among women and youth by helping these vulnerable population stand on their own feet. We are looking forward to support individual and group projects such as saccos, agribusiness, talent nurturing, empowering leadership and self employment skills i.e formation of competitive soccer league in parts of Nyanza and western (an on going project) seeking not only to grow talents but also providing a channel for income generation. We will further work in hand with the respective county government to ensure we impart vocational trainings for unemployed youths. VJFT will be further tackling issues to do provision of legal assistance for victims of GBV violation.

3. EDUCATION

It is estimated that over 1.1 million children attending schools between the of (6-13)have dropped out. As cited by the Kenya bureau of statistics the situation worsened during the pick phase of covid-19 pandemic. The government of Kenya with the support of other stake holders and partners have come up with an initiative of getting all these children back to school, but as indicated one of the major causes of this looming crisis is drought and poverty. All children have right to an education but in cases where parents are unable to afford supplies and food for their children they are left with no option but to drop out of school either to support the family or save the family from torture of incurring more cost. Through VJFT fund these children will be able to enjoy their right to education as we are looking not only to support these children but also donate supplies to schools, mechanisms put in place to ensure swift learning. Some of the approaches we have employed are: bursaries issuance, supply food to schools, support feeding programs, supply of stationaries for both teachers and students, cash transfers, provision of elementary education community mobilization to help get all the drop-outs back to school.

4. AGRICULTURE AND FOOD SECURITY

Latest events in the nation have shown acute deterioration of food security with a large number of people experiencing food scarcity. Global hunger index ranks Kenya as 94th out 121 countries faced with hunger with a score that indicates serious hunger level and one major cause of this is due to low food production being experienced in most of the regions. Vincent junior foundation is working to ensure food security is restored in our societies. We are looking to welcome farmers on board for both large and small scale farming in rural and urban areas. Some of our focus areas have been to supply seedlings and bags of fertilizers for maize and vegetable farming, currently we have a leased farm in Machakos where we managed to set an irrigation scheme for vegetables VJF has also managed to work with rural subsistence farmers and highlighted the importance of agribusiness.

Having ascertained the requirements of a charity fund VJFT welcomes any form of donations from individuals, cooperates, companies, families and other organization who are willing to come on board in transformation of livelihoods. Every material, supplies or shilling that will be donated will go to ensuring we deliver care and comfort to those in need. We also plan to host and organize charitable events for schools, health amenities, orphanages and the widows. As VJFT we believe that there could be no definition of a successful life that does not include service to others.
